Fees for Insured Clients:
If I am a member or your insurance company's provider panel you will only have a "co-pay" that is your responsibility to pay at the beginning of each session. I will bill your insurance company for the remainder of my fee. Please verify you co-pay amount with your insurance company prior to the first session.
If I am not a member of your insurance company's provider panel I will give you an invoice that will allow you to submit for full or partial payment from your insurance company. NOTE: The rules on out-of-network reimbursement differ with the various insurance companies. Check with your carrier. Also, many companies will issue a specific agreement that allows you to see a non-network provider of your choice even if I am not a member of the company's provider panel. These are generally issued when there is a particular need, such as location, clinical specialty or cultural relevance. Again, check with your insurance carrier.
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

Fees for Self-Pay clients:
Many clients prefer to pay for therapy without submitting insurance claims. Some reasons for this are:

To maintain confidentiality from the insurance company for legal or professional reasons.

Because the mental health benefit in your insurance plan is inadequate.

Because your insurance company's provider panel is too limited.
My standard fee is $150 per session. However I offer a sliding-scale fee depending on your personal resources, and I have several appointment times each week for clients who have difficulty paying the standard fee yet are willing to make a commitment to therapy and personal growth.
Reduced Fees:
If you think you cannot afford therapy, please discuss your resources with me during our initial phone conversation. Depending on the mix of my current clients I may be able to make a lower fee arrangement that is affordable to you. I may also be able to refer you to a therapist who has an available low fee opening.
Fees for clients who are both unemployed and uninsured:
I offer a special low fee, depending on your resources and available openings in my schedule, for up to 8 weeks of counseling.
Payment
Cash and checks are accepted in the office at the beginning of each session. All major credit cards are accepted for payment through this website, and must be posted the day before to the session .
Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
