I am a Clinical Psychologist and therapist providing therapy and counseling to adults, adolescents and couples in Oakland and Hayward, California.
With over 30 years in the mental health field, I am currently a private practitioner working with a diversity of clients. Among my areas of expertise are Anxiety, Stress related issues, and relationship concerns.
In addition I have presented at National, State and local conferences and have served on numerous boards and commissions in the healthcare field, including as an appointee by the Governor of California to the California Mental Health Planning Council, as Chairperson of a local Patients' Rights Advocacy organization, as Chairperson of the San Francisco Black Mental Health Coalition, and as a member of the SF Black Coalition on HIV/AIDS.
I have been a guest lecturer at the UCSF School of Nursing and I also was a co-investigator on several School of Nursing research projects related to the relationship between mental health and physical health issues.
I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complimentary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they’re striving for.
